August is here, and with it comes the full heat and heart of summer on the Costa Blanca. This is a month of celebration, when the rhythm of the streets picks up, fiestas light up the evenings, and life spills out onto terraces and beaches. From colourful parades and late-night fireworks to live music echoing through Jávea's old town and bustling chiringuitos along the Avenida Mediterraneo there’s a party spirit in the air that's impossible to ignore.

It’s also the height of the season for incredible local produce. Think ripe figs, juicy tomatoes, vibrant peppers, sweet melons, and fragrant herbs that fill the markets and inspire easy summer dishes. Whether you’re tucking into a chilled gazpacho at home or enjoying grilled seafood at your favourite seaside restaurant, August is a time to savour the flavours of the Mediterranean.

There’s no doubt this is the busiest time of year, but it’s also one of the most joyful. The energy is contagious, the sunsets are spectacular, and the Costa Blanca is at its sparkling best. Whether you’re soaking up the sun, catching a fiesta, or simply enjoying a slower pace with a cold drink in hand, we hope you’re making the most of this golden season.
And if you're thinking of making a more permanent move, selling a home, or exploring a long-term rental, we're always here to help.

As August draws to a close, Jávea begins one of its most beloved and vibrant celebrations: the Festes Mare de Déu de Loreto. Running from the last week of August into the first week of September, this colourful and inclusive fiesta honours the town’s patron saint of the sea, “La Mare de Déu de Loreto.” It’s a joyful tribute to community, tradition, and local identity—bringing together residents and visitors to celebrate with parades, music, religious ceremonies, fireworks, and sporting events. Rooted in deep cultural and spiritual meaning, the festival also has a wonderfully open and creative energy, filling the port area with life and laughter. Whether you’re here year-round or just visiting, it’s a beautiful time to experience the heart of Jávea.

A stranded sailboat on the rocks Javea's First Montañar has become an unexpected tourist attraction. Washed ashore during a storm at the end of July, the boat has drawn crowds of curious onlookers, families, and holidaymakers eager to snap a photo with the dramatic backdrop. With little known about the owners or plans for removal, the vessel remains perched on the rocks—thankfully, no injuries were reported. For now, it continues to spark interest and plenty of social media posts from those passing by.

Jávea is experiencing a noticeable shift in its buyer profile, with a wave of young Dutch entrepreneurs now leading the property market. No longer just a destination for second-home seekers or retirees, the town is becoming a vibrant base for dynamic professionals and families who are looking to build both a life and a business on the Costa Blanca.
Driven partly by anticipated legal changes in the Netherlands and lifestyle shifts following the pandemic, these new buyers are arriving with long-term plans and fresh energy. They're investing in older properties, often in Jávea’s historic centre and transforming them into stylish homes with integrated business spaces. From boutique hospitality and design studios to creative ventures in art and furniture, their ideas are helping to revitalise the town year-round, not just during peak season.
With limited property available in traditionally popular areas like the Arenal and Port, attention has shifted to the Old Town, where new life is being breathed into once-forgotten streets. These buyers aren’t just purchasing homes, they’re building futures and playing an active role in Jávea’s thriving, international community.

If you're self-employed, the idea of switching off and taking a proper holiday might sound like a fantasy. But with a bit of planning it is possible, and necessary.
According to Spain’s Association of Self-Employed Workers (ATA), nearly 4 in 10 freelancers didn’t plan to take a holiday last year. Why? The common reasons are fear of losing clients, not earning during time off, or feeling the need to be available 24/7.
But the truth is your wellbeing matters, and you deserve time off too!
