La Siesta Jávea

Sunshine, Siestas & Summer News from Jávea

July on the Costa Blanca is pure magic! Long sunny days, warm evenings, and a lively energy fill the air as locals and visitors alike make the most of summer on the Mediterranean. With average temperatures reaching the low 30s and sea breezes keeping things pleasant, it’s the perfect time to enjoy beach days, open-air dining, and sunset strolls along the Arenal.

The food in July is bright and bursting with flavour. Tomatoes, peppers, courgettes, aubergines, watermelons, peaches and figs are at their peak, making local markets a joy to wander through. It’s the season for light Mediterranean dishes, grilled fish, and colourful salads—perfect for al fresco lunches or evening tapas by the sea.

Jávea Moors and Christians Costa Blanca

Jávea’s Moors & Christians Fiesta is one of the most iconic celebrations of the year, taking place in the third week of July. With its dazzling parades, dramatic battle re-enactments, and community spirit, this vibrant tradition is a summer highlight for both locals and visitors.

The 2025 festivities will kick off with the traditional presentation on Saturday 13th July, followed by a week of music, parades, religious ceremonies, and historical re-enactments. Highlights include the flower offering to Sant Jaume, the dramatic beach landings on Thursday 18th, and two spectacular gala parades on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st July. Expect live music, fireworks, paella competitions, and plenty of colourful costumes as the “filaes” of Moors and Christians take to the streets.

Set mainly around the Port and Old Town, this is a celebration of culture, history, and community. If you’re in Jávea this July, don’t miss the chance to experience this unforgettable fiesta!

Jávea International Festival

Javea International Festival

Every summer, Jávea bursts into colour, flavour, and rhythm with the much-loved Jávea International Festival, a vibrant celebration of global culture that reflects the town’s wonderfully diverse international community.

This year, the festival takes place on July 3rd, 4th, and 5th, transforming Avenida Augusta into a bustling open-air celebration with dozens of country-themed stands offering traditional food, drinks, crafts, and cultural displays. Whether you're in the mood for spicy Mexican tacos, rich Belgian chocolates, German bratwurst, or Spanish tapas, there’s something to satisfy every palate. Alongside the gastronomy, expect to be entertained by live music, dancing, and performances that showcase traditions from around the world.

Families, friends, and visitors of all ages gather to enjoy the electric atmosphere that carries on well into the night. The festival is more than just a foodie’s dream It’s a joyful reminder of how different cultures come together in Jávea to create something truly special.

Jack and Daisy music

As summer hits its stride, live music is making a vibrant comeback across Jávea and it’s been a joy to see and hear! From mellow acoustic sets to upbeat bands that get the crowd dancing, weekly gigs are lighting up venues across the town.

Along the Arenal, favourite beachside spots like Chabada and Bambula are hosting regular live sessions, adding that perfect soundtrack to sunset drinks and seaside dinners. The atmosphere is lively and laid-back, exactly what summer in Jávea should feel like.

It’s not just the Arenal buzzing again, the Old Town and Port have live music nights at places like Beach House creating unforgettable evenings by the sea. From jazz to soul, flamenco to classic rock, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Whether you're a local or visiting, there’s never been a better time to get out and support local talent. The return of live music has brought extra life to Jávea’s evenings, and we’re so glad it’s back.

URGENT: New Rental Property Registration Deadline – Action Required by our Winter let Landlords

We want to make all our winter let property owners aware that the deadline to register your rental property on the new Registro Único has now passed: 30th June 2025. This regulation applies to both short-term and winter  rentals, and many landlords are still unaware of their obligations. Failure to register correctly could result in your rental activity becoming non-compliant, and for short-term rentals, your existing tourist licence could be invalidated.

If your property is rented for  winter lets or any stays of 11 days or more,  and does not hold a tourist licence, you are still required to register your property on the Registro Único. This process will generate a separate registration number specifically for these.

If your property is used for both short and winter rentals, you may need to register for both.

What to do next:

Your gestor can manage this process for you. If you do not have one, we recommend Impley Legal & Tax in Jávea, who assist many of our clients.

📧 Email: info@impley.com

If your application is already in progress, please follow up to ensure it’s moving forward. If you’ve already completed your registration, no further action is needed — just send us the registration number.

Documents required by Impley or your gestor:

  • Bank ownership certificate (to pay the €27 fee)
  • Property owner’s full home address
  • Title deeds or recent Nota Simple
  • Copy of ID (DNI or NIE)
  • Digital certificate (they can help with this if needed)

Compliance is now mandatory. Please don’t delay in ensuring your property is properly registered.
