From June 20th to 24th, the city comes alive with large paper-mâché sculptures, called "ninots," which are meticulously crafted and displayed throughout the streets. The festival features impressive fireworks displays, lively parades, traditional dances, and the symbolic "Burning of the Ninots" on the final night. Javea joins in the festivities of the Bonfires of Saint John in authentic Javea Style (crazy!) From June 20th to 24th, the town comes alive with bonfires, fireworks, parades, and music. It's a fantastic opportunity to experience the vibrant spirit of Javea and immerse yourself in the local traditions.
Alcoy hosts one of Spain's most traditional and exquisite Moors and Christians festivals. Taking place from June 21st to 24th, this event commemorates the battles between the Moors and Christians during the Reconquista. The streets are transformed into a vivid spectacle of colourful costumes, captivating processions, and mock battles. It's a true feast for the senses, filled with music, dancing, and the spirit of historical re-enactment.
Although not on the Costa Blanca, the International Festival of Music and Dance in Granada is a must-visit event for culture enthusiasts. The city comes alive from June 17th to July 8th with diverse music, dance, and theatre performances. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Alhambra Palace, this festival showcases world-class artists and provides an unforgettable cultural experience.
