Where to stay in Javea

29th November 2021

There are several different options for staying in Jávea, all offering different experiences to the visitor. Unlike many other coastal resorts along the Costa Blanca, Jávea has managed to control development and consequently there are just a handful of very good hotels serving every pocket and taste. Two official campsites offer every facility for those wishing to stay under canvas or park up their camper vans or caravans in delightful surroundings just a short walk from the Mediterranean Sea. Hidden amongst pine trees on the surrounding hills there are villas of all shapes and sizes whilst the apartment complexes closer to town offer a more convenient place to stay.

The premier hotel is without doubt the four-star Parador de Jávea which has been built on a rocky promontory overlooking the Arenal beach and offers stunning views of the Mediterranean. The well-manicured exotic gardens and swimming pool provide a perfect place to relax whilst inside there is a great restaurant offering Mediterranean-style menus. The quality comes at a premium though and you can expect to pay upwards of 1,500 euros (£1,270) for one week half-board during the high season.

A little further away from the busy (and somewhat noisier) beach area is El Rodat Hotel, another four-star destination which is located in a much quieter zone of the town about five minutes’ drive from the main Arenal beach. The rooms are more like private chalets set around the landscaped gardens. The hotel also boasts La Galería restaurant, holder of a Michelin star, which serves traditional Valencian dishes with innovative touches, and a Wellness Spa although this is an additional cost. Expect to pay upwards 1,000 euros (£847) for one week in the high season for a standard double room with private bathroom.

Hotel Villa Naranjos is a very popular three-star hotel located just a few hundred metres away from the Arenal beach with more than 150 rooms which either overlook the beach and bay or give fine views of the majestic mountain of Montgó. Due to its popularity, vacancies are often at a premium during the busier summer season and it’s often fully booked long before the season starts. It’s also a very popular destination for Christmas and New Year breaks.

In the port area is the two-star Hotel Javea located right in the heart of the this bustling maritime zone and just a few minutes’ walk from the stone beach. It has a popular restaurant right at the top of the building which offers stunning views across the bay and is open to the public as well. Expect to fork out some 500 euros (£425) plus for a six night stay in a standard double room with private bathroom.

Hotel Miramar is a two-star hotel located right on the seafront in the port area, a very popular destination right in the heart of a bustling part of town. The hotel has a bar and terrace facing the sea which is also open to the public. Expect to pay upwards of 650 euros (£550) a week for a double room with sea views during the high season.

About ten minutes’ drive from the main beach area is the four-star complex of Aparthotel Bahia Pinosol which offers luxury exotic gardens with three swimming pools, an outdoor snack bar, a gym and sauna. Opposite the complex is a public park with picnic areas, barbecue facilities, bar and playground for children. Expect to pay 650 euros (£550) plus for a standard one-bedroom apartment during the high season and upwards of 1,000 euros (£847) for a two-bedroom option.

The two-star Hotel Triskel is located right in the heart of the historic centre of Xàbia right next to the ancient church of San Bartolomé. It perfectly combines typical local architecture with modern design and includes a comfortable lounge-bar area – also open to the public – designed in the local tosca style. Expect to pay around 700 euros (£595) plus for a seven-night stay during the high season.

Hotel Costamar is a two-star hotel located in the port area of town just a couple of minutes’ walk from the stone beach. It’s a modest venue of just 14 bedrooms, ten of which are double rooms.

Recently renovated is the four-star Hotel Solymar which describes itself as “a dream hotel on the beachfront” located as it is on the coast between the port and the Arenal. It’s a ten-minute walk to the Arenal beach area and a 20-minute stroll to the port. It has recently been renovated. Expect to pay around 1,200 euros (£1020) plus for a seven-night stay during the high season.

A recent addition to the port is Nomad Hotel Xàbia Port, which is located along the popular Marina Española promenade just a few metres from the sea. Expect to pay around 165-245 euros a night in the high season; there is a minimum stay of three nights.

Jávea has two official campsites, one close to the port area and the old town whilst the other is just ten minutes walk to the Arenal beach.

Camping Javea is located inland close to the Gorgos River about a five minute drive to the main beach at the Arenal and even less to the port and the old town. It has plots for camping, motor homes and caravans as well as a limited number of bungalows. The complex has two swimming pools, one of which is for kids, with large garden areas which afford spectacular views of the majestic mountain of Montgó. There is also a comfortable bar-cafeteria area next to the pool for snacks and drinks plus sports facilities including football, tennis, basketball, table tennis and petanca. Expect to pay around 300-500 euros (£254-£423) for a family of four seven-night stay during the high season, depending on the type of accommodation.

Camping El Naranjal Javea is located about ten minutes walk inland from the main beach of the Arenal and offers plots for camping, motor homes and caravans as well as a limited number of bungalows. The complex offers a swimming pool, children’s playground, restaurant and bar with showers and full bathroom facilities. Expect to pay around 250-650 euros (£211-£550) for a family of four seven-night stay during the high season, depending on the type of accommodation.

Private Villas

Javea boasts many beautiful villas which are available for private hire throughout the year and there are several companies who will help you to find your perfect holiday base, whether it be close to the sea with the hustle and bustle of the bars and restaurants or set amidst pine trees in secluded quiet havens, perfect to relax and unwind in the sunshine.

Hostal Carrió is located just a few minutes’ walk from the historic centre and offers six fully-equipped double rooms and a renowned restaurant offering traditional Valencian specialities.

Pension La Favorita is located in the port area just a few minutes’ walk from the stone beach.

Pension Roig 53 is located about five minutes drive from the coast between the port area and the old town.

Hostel Balcón al Mar is located in the Balcón al Mar zone about ten minutes drive to the main beach area of the Arenal. A car is essential.
