We've made it! Summer and the vibrant month of August.

As the high season reaches its peak, our beautiful coastal towns come alive with an array of festivities, exciting activities, and the delicious bounty of seasonal produce. Whether you're a local or a visitor, August promises a plethora of experiences that cater to all tastes and interests.

One of the highlights this month is the celebrated Fiesta of Our Lady of Loreto, complete with religious ceremonies, lively processions, and breath-taking firework displays that illuminate the night sky. For those captivated by historical re-enactments, nearby areas might be hosting the visually stunning Moors and Christians Festival, featuring grand parades and elaborate costumes that bring history to life.

The sun-drenched beaches of Javea, such as Playa del Arenal and Playa de la Granadella, offer the perfect backdrop for water sports and relaxation. For the adventurers, a kayak tour or paddle boarding adventure through the sea caves or simply relax on a catamaran and enjoy sweeping views of our picturesque coastline. As the sun sets, our night markets emerge, offering local crafts, food, and entertainment, perfect for enjoying the warm summer evenings.

Culinary enthusiasts will delight in the abundant local produce this month. Dive into refreshing dishes like gazpacho made from ripe tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers, or savour the fresh flavours of seafood freshly caught from the Mediterranean. Don't forget to treat yourself to some local ice cream or a glass of horchata, ideal for cooling off during the hot days of August.

Movie Nights on the Arenal Beach

One of the cherished summer traditions in Xàbia is the Vora la Mar Cinema series, a cultural and leisure initiative sponsored by the Town Hall. This beloved event is entirely free and welcomes movie-goers of all ages.

Each summer, the Arenal Beach becomes a vibrant gathering spot, attracting hundreds of locals and visitors alike during the months of July and August. Here, under the stars, attendees enjoy a diverse line-up of films, making it a perfect way to spend a warm summer evening by the sea. There is still time to catch a film on 6th, 13th and 20th August, starting 10pm at the central area of the Arenal beach.
